Last year, Maddie's Fund and the Petfinder.com Foundation teamed up on a Customer Service Awards Program to provide cash and local publicity for shelters and rescues with good customer service. The program also aimed to raise awareness about the importance of good customer service; offer tips and support for shelters that did not provide good customer service; and use the lessons learned to help others implement "best practices."
After paying out $50,000 to 70 animal welfare organizations in 45 states, the two organizations have decided to do it again.
Starting July 19, 2010 and running 10 weeks until September 24, shelters and rescue groups that are Petfinder.com members in good standing may be contacted or visited by a member of the Petfinder.com Outreach team to win prizes totaling $51,000.
